The primary purpose of the Library Advisory Board is to find ways to maintain and improve library services in Tulare County.

The Library Advisory Board

  • Is a citizens group appointed by the Tulare County Board of Supervisors, including two members and one alternate from each of the five supervisorial districts, plus five members-at-large.
  • Meets monthly to keep informed on library matters and to consider ideas for maintaining and improving library services.
  • Advises and makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on all phases of library services - works with the County Librarian.
  • Provides liaison among the public, the library, and the Board of Supervisors.

 

Would You Like to Help Improve Library Services?

  • Visit your branch library regularly and keep informed.
  • Attend an Advisory Board meeting. Meetings are public and held on the second Tuesday of each month at 2pm at the Visalia Main Library. Call (559) 713-2700 to confirm meeting time and place.
  • Send your suggestions for improving library service to the Advisory Board by writing to Chairperson, Tulare County Library Advisory Board, 200 West Oak Avenue, Visalia, CA 93291.
