ADULT LITERACY
Providing free one-on-one Adult Literacy tutoring to AGES 18 to-lifelong learner. We focus on FUNCTIONAL LITERACY needs such as preparation for driver's license, learning to help kids with homework and other daily literacy needs. Many of our adult learners are studying helpful material in our Health Literacy curriculum, our Workforce Development curriculum, as well as our Financial Literacy series. We also host an exciting GED one-on-one tutoring program, assisting adult learners in preparation for passing the General Educational Development (GED) series of tests. We recently started our English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) services, helping those with English language challenges to better function in our community.
If Citizenship is your goal – we are here to help. Our easy-to-read Citizenship material has proven effective in assisting four adult learners to study and pass their Citizenship tests in 2004.
EARLY LITERACY
We provide free workshops to parents and caregivers of children 0-5 throughout Tulare County. During these exciting workshops, we explain six critical literacy skill sets which are necessary for children to BE READY TO READ when they start school. Each parent or caregiver who attends these workshops receive valuable information, handouts and a free book to share with the children in their lives.
