Advisory Board

Meetings every second Tuesday at 3:30 pm

The Tulare County Library Advisory Board meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 3:30 pm at various branch locations. The public is welcome to attend with meetings lasting about an hour.

What is the Advisory Board?

 

The Advisory Board represents the community by working with the County Librarian to maintain and improve library services in Tulare County. The ten members are chosen by the Board of Supervisors from the community with one representative from each Supervisorial District, plus five others at-large.

​

The purpose of the Library Advisory Board is to act as a community advisory body to the Board of Supervisors and the County Librarian regarding all phases of library services and operations of the Tulare County Free Library. This includes:

 

Library policies and operations, including hours;

Federal, State, and/or Local legislation pertaining to library funding and support;

Public input about the Library;

Financial requirements of the Library, including the annual budget; and

Other matters of concern to the Board of Supervisors regarding the Library.

Volunteering and Suggestions

The Library welcomes those interested in volunteering for the board to complete an application and submit to the Library Administration or the County Clerk’s Office.
