Tulare County Library Memory Lab
The Memory Lab is a free, do-it-yourself space for making high-quality digitized personal archive collections. Using professional-grade equipment, library users can digitize multiple formats, including slides, negatives, photographic prints, and documents.
The Memory Lab at the Tulare County Library consists of one digitization station. The station is used for scanning photographs, slides, negatives, documents. This station can also digitize videotape transfers, (VHS,S-VHS, VHS-C), DV and MiniDV, Hi8, and 3.5” floppy disks. A standalone unit can scan 8mm film.
Lab Use – Memory Lab users must sign the Memory Lab User Agreement, and make an appointment to use the equipment.

Orientation Video-Users must view the Memory Lab Orientation Video before making a reservation.

Age Policy – Appointment requests must be made by patrons aged 18 and older.

Length of Lab Visit – Users may reserve use of the Memory Lab for 3 hours per day. 10 am to 1 pm, 2 pm to 5 pm, Tuesday to Friday in the Annie R. Mitchell History Room

Copyrighted and Obscene Materials are not allowed to be digitized.
Liability Limitation – The Memory Lab and Tulare County Library are not responsible for any losses, damages, obligations or liabilities directly or indirectly related to the use of its equipment and information resources.

Food and Beverages – Food and drink are NOT allowed in the Memory Lab area.

Saving Files – Users are responsible for saving their work on a personal, external memory source. The library does not provide these resources.

Follow the Rules-Failure to follow Memory Lab rules will result in forfeiture of your Memory Lab appointment.

The Memory Lab at Tulare County Library is made possible through Institute of Museum and Library Services funds administered to the Tulare County Library Foundation by District of Columbia Public Library and the Memory Lab Network. The Tulare County Library is a Memory Lab Network member, receiving the training and funding to create a Memory Lab for the public.
